Hurricane Harvey Relief

posted Aug 31, 2017, 5:56 AM by Keith Biegert   [ updated Aug 31, 2017, 5:59 AM ]

By now everyone has seen footage of the devastating flooding in Houston and the Gulf Coast of Texas as a result of Hurricane Harvey.  Tens of thousands have been forced to evacuate their homes, many of which have been damaged or destroyed.  The recovery is going to a long and painful one for many and our support is urgently and greatly needed.  Please pray for those impacted by the Hurricane and, if you can, consider making a financial donation to help victims that have been displaced and are at risk of losing so much of their lives.  Any amount will make a difference.  You can contribute to the Knights of Columbus Charities/Disaster Relief using this link: whereby 100% of the proceeds will go directly to relief efforts.   Alternatively, you can also donate to the charitable organization of your choice that is directing funds to the hurricane victims.

Its Time for the Monday Night Football Fundraiser

posted Jul 25, 2017, 5:40 AM by Keith Biegert   [ updated Jul 25, 2017, 5:41 AM ]

It is time again for the NFL to start up for the new season. With that we start our third annual Monday Night Football Raffle.  Only six weeks till kickoff of the first Monday night games.

This Raffle has been the best fund raiser we have had over the past two years but we can make it even better. If we can get every Brother Knight in the council to sell at least two Raffle books we far exceed all of our past fund raisers need to support our programs for a year.

I would hope that all brothers will make an attempt to sell just two books.  Surely everyone had a friend, family member, co-worker or neighbor who is an NFL fan that would like to play and at the same time make  a contribution  for the council's worthy charity giving programs.

Last year the council made significant donations to storm victims in Eastern North Carolina and to the victims of the devadting fire near Gatlingburg Tennessee.  Without this Raffle we would not have been able to help those people in their time of great need.

Please stop by a Council meeting to pick up a few books to sell.  Send questions to ''

KIDS Read-A-Thon

posted May 8, 2017, 10:08 AM by Keith Biegert   [ updated May 8, 2017, 10:08 AM ]

The 22nd Annual Kids Read-A-Thon, a summer reading program sponsored by the Knights of Columbus #6650, is looking for elementary school kids who like to read.

Young readers are asked to read books of their choice and obtain sponsors. Sponsors may choose to pledge a donation based on the number of books read or a flat donation. Money raised will go to benefit children with learning disabilities. It is a great program, it encourages kids to read and gives them the opportunity to be involved in a charitable program. Information and forms are available from Tom Eifler (voice message 919-362-1288 or ). Thank you for your continued support.
